EOS (EOS), now known as Vaulta, has surged by 31.8% in the past month as a strong bullish tide has lifted most boats in the crypto market.
However, the price is rising strongly today, somehow counterintuitively to the market’s overall tone.
In the past 24 hours, EOS has gained 6.2% after World Liberty Financial, the Trump-backed decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, purchased around $3 million worth of the token.
Lookonchain reported the purchase through its X account earlier today. Although WLFI invests in a significant number of cryptocurrencies, EOS has now become the 10th largest holding in its portfolio according to data from Arkham Intelligence.
This is also the first time that WLFI makes a meaningful investment in this layer-one blockchain. The nature or scope of this transaction was not disclosed by any of the parties involved.
Although it is a small purchase for a token with a market cap of $1.32 billion, the fact that WLFI hand-picked this token for such a large purchase may have improved investors’ EOS price prediction.
The move also comes two days after EOS effectively launched Vaulta (A), the project’s new rebranded token. EOS holders can swap their assets for A with a 1:1 ratio and zero fees involved.

The daily chart shows that, despite today’s uptick, the price of EOS has broken its bullish structure as it has moved below its second-best (and most relevant) higher high.
Although the WLFI news probably prompted the price surge, EOS has already retreated after it retested this former support level, which has now turned into resistance.
If the price action fails to recapture that threshold, which means climbing above $0.90 in the next few days, the odds favor the continuation of a downtrend, probably toward the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) as part of a simple mean reversion move.
However, a break below that level could result in further losses as the next support stands at the $0.53 to $0.55 range.
The influence of WLFI’s investment in the project is not necessarily big as none of the two parties has announced any intentions to collaborate in a joint venture or anything of that nature.
